The 228 grind provides additional horsepower and torque throughout the entire operating range while delivering an aggressive idle quality . On the BTR Superflow engine Dyno, we observed gains starting at 2400 RPM, with a peak gain of 50+ HP at 6500 rpm and 46 lb/ft at 6400 RPM. The 228 continues to pull strong up to 7000 RPM!

NOTE: The use of a BTR aftermarket spring kit is required due to high valve lift and increased rpm potential in combination with the heavy OEM valves. We also recommend the use of hardened pushrods in power adder applications.
NOTE: To take advantage of this grind, a proper calibration with attention to detail will make this camshaft SHINE!
NOTE: 228 Camshaft requires the use of a VVT Limiter (BTR-VVT-HEMI-4CAM) to be installed in your cam phaser. This is included in the camshaft box; no need to purchase. However, if you do not already have the required installation tool (BTR-VVT-Hemi-Tool), you will need to purchase the tool separately.
The dyno test below was conducted on a stock 6.4 with a CAR intake, valve spring upgrade, E85, and long-tube headers. Stock cam VS. our 228 cam.
