Our Story-

Brian Tooley Racing (BTR) began as a small operation driven by Brian Tooley's passion for engine performance and innovation. Tooley's journey in the performance industry started in the early 1990s when he began working with cylinder heads, having launched Total Engine Airflow (TEA). Over time, his focus shifted to creating custom parts for enthusiasts, leveraging his expertise to fill gaps in the market for affordable, high-quality engine components. Following Brian’s departure from TEA, now part of Summit Racing, he took a leap of faith and started Brian Tooley Racing in 2012 from the basement of his home.

The company quickly outgrew its humble beginnings. As operations expanded rapidly, it necessitated a move in 2014 to a dedicated 3,200-square-foot facility. This marked the start of BTR's evolution into a full-fledged business. Business continued to prosper, and by 2017, BTR transitioned most operations to a much larger, purpose-built 15,000-square-foot headquarters to accommodate growing demand. As BTR branched into more in-house production, the need for more space and advanced manufacturing capabilities began to rise. In 2022, BTR added another 30,000 square feet to the main facility, which enabled the company to expand its product line and invest in cutting-edge equipment like Spintron testing equipment, CNC machines, and specialized camshaft grinders, adding to BTR's capabilities. These investments allowed BTR to design, test, and manufacture pioneering parts in camshaft and intake manifold design, solidifying its position as a leader in the high-performance aftermarket industry. By emphasizing performance, value, and reliability, BTR gained a loyal customer base among hobbyists and hardcore racers alike. BTR's goal to provide American hot-rodding ingenuity and quality is only matched by our commitment to our own family of employees. In 2018, BTR gave back again and converted to an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), so all employees at BTR have a vested interest in the company's success and motivate each others' success.

Today, Brian Tooley Racing stands as a leader in the modern American pushrod engine arena. Their success is a testament to the team's dedication and ability to collaborate with industry experts, test and refine products, and respond to customer needs. BTR's journey from basement to global powerhouse in a few short years proves that we live our motto by designing, testing, racing, and using our own parts- Passion Fuels Innovation.
