This engine doesn't come with MDS, so it's even easier to install. All you need to address is your ECU tuning (See below, we offer the RTD tuner for MDS changes to your OEM ECU, extra charged may apply). This engine can also be used in passenger car and SUV applications with either tuning or a camshaft swap.

• Swapping in a truck? Your exhaust manifolds probably have issues. We've got HEAVY DUTY BD Diesel Exhaust Manifold Kits for your late model Hemi Ram! -1041463 manifolds fit the 2009+ 4th Gen Ram classic DS body style. 1041467 manifolds fit the 2019+ 5th Gen Ram DT body style. If you are unsure which you have, measure your bed rail tops inside edge to inside edge. DS Trucks measure 65.3" and DT Trucks measure 61.8"

*This truck engine can also be used in Car/Jeep/Durango applications but requires the pickup tube stud to be moved to the #1 main position for correct oil pan pickup placement. Torque specification for the main stud is 108 ft/lbs. Non-MDS car applications like 2009+ Charger R/T with manual transmission use a different camshaft. Tuning changes may be required if replacing a non-MDS passenger car engine or replace camshaft with Mopar P/N 53022064BD prior to service.
